SEPTEMBER WEBINARS
Concrete Mix Design: Basics
September 15, 1:00 - 2:00 pm EDT
Presented by: James M. Shilstone, Jr., FACI, Concrete Technologist, Command Alkon, Inc.
INDIVIDUAL purchase / GROUP purchase (up to 10 people)

Description:
Designing concrete mixtures, or more properly phrased – proportioning concrete mixtures, seems like a straightforward process. ACI 211, “Standard Practice for Selecting Proportions for Normal, Heavyweight, and Mass Concrete” provides a series of equations and tables that leads the user through developing proportions for concrete mixtures. However, there is also a bit of an art to designing concrete mixtures. Particle shape and texture cannot be quantified but play a major role in concrete performance. This presentation will discuss the basics of proportioning concrete mixtures.

Concrete Mix Design: Advanced
September 17, 1:00 - 2:00 pm EDT
Presented by: James M. Shilstone, Jr., FACI, Concrete Technologist, Command Alkon, Inc.
INDIVIDUAL purchase / GROUP purchase (up to 10 people)

Description:
Although ACI 211 is considered the “Standard Practice” for proportioning concrete mixtures, there are other techniques also referred to in ACI 301, “Specifications for Structural Concrete” and ACI 318. In addition, there are techniques used in the industry for proportioning, evaluating and approving concrete mixture proportions. This presentation will include an overview and some examples.
